Description
FRUIT:
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 7.5% Petit Verdot, 7.5% Cabernet Franc
ALCOHOL: 14.5%
WINEMAKER: Ian Bell
WINEMAKING: The vintage of 2008 was warm and a great year for red grape varieties in Wilyabrup. The fruit was fermented separately in open fermenters and then matured in new French barriques for 24 months. The varieties were then blended.
NOSE: A delightfully perfumed nose of violets and blackberries. Aromatic yet elegant.
PALATE: A big, juicy blackcurrant palate with chocolate and vanilla undertones. Persistent length and soft, chalky tannins from the select French oak. Cellar confidently for at least 8 to 10 years.
