Sedation
We offer a number of sedation options:Nitrous Oxide (happy gas) - Lighter inhaliation sedation prodominantly used for anxious children and some adults.
Penthrox - Inhalation sedation for adults in which the patients have control of the amount of sedation required during the procedure.
IV (Twilight) Sedation - With the convenience of being performed in practice, an anesthetist visits the clinic monthly for those patients that are a little more anxious than others or for those having numerous procedures completed at once. Sedation is achieved by IV medications delivered by an anesthetist whereby the patient is conscious but unaware of treatment being provided.
General Aneasthesia - The highest form of sedation to cater for our extremely anxious patients and those having numerous procedures completed at once. This is performed at the Central Districts Hospital whereby the patient is completely unconscious during the entire treatment.
