Ballet Dance Classes

Learning Classical Ballet is excellent for children even if they never become professional dancers. It is excellent because it teaches discipline, grace and manners.
When you enrol your child in Classical Ballet you are giving them the chance to learn the fundamentals of dance training. These fundamentals include alignment, line, placement, and correct posture. They also learn about turn out, extension and balance. Over time students will develop a lean musculature and will learn to extend their range of motion. Classical ballet also fosters concentration. This ability to concentrate helps children to learn other subjects at school.

Our Classical Ballet classes are developed using the Australian Dance Assessment Programme and The Federal Association of Teachers of Dancing syllabus. We use these curricula because they are the best in Australia, and both are Australian owned and designed. Both syllabi are concerned with the whole child and their total development - not just the physical. They also focus on the process of learning and judge this to be as equally important as the finished product.

The Australian Dance Assessment Programme (ADAP) is a nationally accredited dance programme for children. Students can choose to do assessments whereby they have the opportunity to obtain Certificates I-IV in Dance Performance Studies. These qualifications are VETAB accredited, which also gives them international recognition.
