We offer a large range of kitchenware accessories including, bread boards, chopping boards, cutting boards, cheese boards and entertaining boards. The main difference I feel is that we need more than one board in our kitchens, as a Chef I do indeed have many boards for many reasons, in a commercial situation or restaurant we are forced to use a colour coded system to stop cross contamination, at home it comes down to common sense and simple rules of basic hygiene so the colour can depend on your mood or your décor.
There is a popular debate regarding the health implications of wooden and plastic cutting surfaces. Both wood and plastic boards are safe if cleaned properly. The main concern is cross-contamination which can occur when raw food containing bacteria comes in contact with other food that has already been cooked or is ready to eat. It is recommended when preparing food to use separate chopping boards for preparing different types of food. If you only have one board you should thoroughly wash and sanitise it between uses. However, for convenience we suggest you have more than one.
We leave it to you to decide whether its timber boards, bamboo boards or even a polyethylene boards, at home even the colour can be your choice.
