Garden Design

We offer a professional and very flexible horticultural advisory service to suit all "do it yourself landscapers". Starting with garden visits and preparation of specific plant lists through to complete garden plans, our service is flexible to accommodate our customer's different needs.

Our garden advisory service has been operating for over 20 years, helping home owners and commercial developers with landscape plans and plant recommendations, to achieve the garden that is right for them. Planting Design is our specialty - the right plant for the right place. All those years of experience in the local region is built into all that we do and many repeat customers and referrals are testimony to the quality of our work.

Services are provided by Evan Prentice (Dip. Appl. Sc. Horticulture) whose special area of expertise is "soft" landscape (soils, plants, garden care and design). Priority is given to ensuring plant recommendations are the most suitable for your requirements and site conditions. Advice is also given on "hard" landscape elements (paving, walls, structures etc.).

Site Consultations
Evan will inspect the site with you, give his suggestions and comment on your ideas. He can prepare a report on what action to take and what plants to use. This service is particularly useful if you are not familiar with plants that grow in your area or if you have inherited a garden full of plants you don't know. It gives another opinion and can expand on your ideas while helping to avoid any common pitfalls.

Full garden plan and plant lists
If you require a design for a whole new garden, we first give you a guide, to help define your requirements and a list of a few items to gather for us (plans, soil sample etc.).

During the visit Evan will do a site survey and discuss your ideas. Often he will pencil in the ideas for your draft approval.

Design detailing, plant selection and generation of site specific notes is completed off site.
