Injectable Dermal Fillers

Folds, lines and wrinkles present at rest, or when we are not forming facial expressions, are called Static Wrinkles,. These are typically treated with dermal filler, either to lift, define, plump or augment various areas of the face.

Most commonly, Dermal Fillers are used in Naso-labial folds, depressed under eye tear troughs, for cheek augment, re-shaping the nose, re-shaping the mandible profile, deep frown lines, chin augment, brow lifting, hand and neck volume loss, due to age , illness, or weight loss.

Of course Lip Augmentation has been extremely popular for many years, but we now have such a vast range of fillers to choose from, the look is very different from the awful "Trout Pout "so commonly seen. Softer more subtle Fillers can give a beautiful natural look. Vertical upper lip lines, laugh lines, and deep Marionette lines are other areas around the mouth are also commonly treated, with amazing results.

"Wow without the Ow" is the way of the future, with many of the products having Lignocaine ( local anaesthetic ) in them, so no more painful nerve blocks required.

Swelling is greatly reduced with most of these products, and usually not an issue post treatment.

There is no "1 specific "product or technique used, as we all have a different anatomical structure, so facial mapping and product selection is critical to an excellent post treatment outcome.

This is an area where clinician experience is essential, as the wrong product injected into the wrong dermal plane, will result in a very unhappy and strange looking patient.

We use all the TGA approved Dermal Fillers available in Australia, and choice of product is dependent on the area being treated, and the severity of correction required.
