Research Design
Different circumstances require different solutions. Our marketing research design services are a consultative process in which we come alongside you to understand the nature of your questions, the management issues that you wish the research to inform, and the resources you have at your disposal to undertake this research.
Exploratory Research
The first phase of research is typically to identify what it is we don't know. Focus groups and individual depth interviews provide invaluable insights into issues as your clients and stakeholders see them.
Descriptive Research
Following on from the exploratory research phase, it's now important to obtain reliable information from a broader range of respondents that accurately reflect your entire audience, and with sufficient accuracy that you can make management decisions.
Our quantitative and qualitative research can include online surveys, face-to-face surveys "in the field" (for example, door to door or in local shopping precincts), telephone surveys, survey panels, and (in rare instances) mail surveys.
The data obtained from descriptive research "describes" the environment, for example identifying the nature, habits, attitudes, behaviours, buying preferences and intentions, and demography of your target audience.
Causal Research
Causal research is a unique form of research which seeks to identify the relationship between 'cause' and 'effect'. Unlike descriptive research, which only states the facts about your audience but not the reasons behind their usage, attitudes, and intentions, causal research aims to identify which factors are influencing behaviours, and where possible quantify this relationship. For example, "if we were to serve better meals on our International flights, would our target audience prefer to fly with us even at a cost premium to our competitors?"
