Description
What is it?

This treatment is milder than a full resurfacing, requiring less down time but repeated treatments. Where a laser-resurfacing treatment penetrates the full surface area of the skin, a profractional treatment ensures that only a fraction of the skin is targeted at one time. The body's natural healing process stimulates the production of new collagen in the treated zones, making the skin's appearance plumper, and smoothing-out wrinkles, lines and scars.

Profractional laser treatments can also be done at varying depths, and we can customise a package to suit your individual needs during your free consult.

How long does it take?

The procedure for a full face normally takes about 45 minutes to one hour. A topical anaesthetic needs to be applied at least 45 minutes before the procedure in order to minimize discomfort. In some cases one profractional laser treatment may be sufficient. However three treatments completed four to six weeks apart are generally recommended.

How long is the recovery time and what can I expect?

Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will have the same sensation as a mild sunburn and there may be some pin point bleeding. It is generally recommended to take at least four to five days off work. The deeper the treatment is the longer the recovery period needs to be. After the procedure, Vaseline is applied to the treated area acting as a barrier while new skin regenerates. Any redness and swelling will start to subside four days after the procedure, and at this stage makeup and bland moisturiser may be applied.
