School Readiness Program

At Daintree Preschool we offer an extensive educational School Readiness Program. The program is developed by our Director - Laura, who is primary school trained, specialising in Early Childhood Education, and also implemented by our dedicated Diploma qualified staff memeber - Alysha. Our program exceeds the expectations of an 'average' school readiness program and the children learn the areas of language & literacy, mathemathics, science, HSIE and creavitivty, just to name a few. The children get an insight of Kindergarten work and Key Learning Areas from the NSW Department of Education Curriculum in primary schools. By making this curriculum suit our children and their age group and skills/needs gets them ready for kindergarten for the upcoming year ahead when they transition from preschool to 'big school'. We also liasie with surrounding primary schools so we know what is expected of the kindergarten children in the following year, and work with 'Billy the Backpack' a transition to school program developed by the Shellharbour Council and ICS. The children visit 'Billy the Backpack' during the school readiness year and meet representatives from surrounding schools and are involved in fun activities throughout the day, gathering lots of information.
