Tasting notes
This Shiraz is vibrant and shapely with cool‐climate refined elegance. It is densely packed with juicy, precise fruit, a suggestion of spice, integrated oak and fine tannins. It is immediately accessible, but will reward further cellaring for 3 to 5 years.
Vintage report 2010
This was the earliest season to date, starting in early to mid February, two weeks earlier than any other harvest previous at Fonty's Pool Vineyards. With a warm but not hot spring and minimal rain and cloud cover, budburst was early and uniform resulting in good flowering and even maturation of fruit. In addition yields were lower than expected, but in conjunction
with almost ideal conditions we are extremely happy with all of the resultant wines.
Food suggestion
Well suited to lamb, particularly spicy Middle Eastern lamb grills, but also has the fullness of flavour to complement Beef Cheek Ravioli or Beef Rib Bourgignon.
