Tasting notes
The Pinot Noir from our vineyard is a selection of three clones. The blend of these clones, combined with the cool-climate location, provides gentle texture, delicacy, softness and vibrant cherry fruit. We are seeking pristine pure flavours, bright acidity, subtle oak and fine polite tannins.
Vintage report 2010
The 2010 vintage commenced on the 27th of February, which was slightly later than the past 3 years. The lead up to harvest was relatively consistent without any hot days or disruptive rain. The harvesting of our Pinot Noir commenced in the second week of March and was completed in the first week of April. The weather during this three week period of harvesting was highlighted by clear blue skies and cool evening breezes, which ensured we were able to harvest each of our three clones at optimum ripeness, allowing us to capture the freshness and complexities of this variety.
Food suggestion
This Pinot combines beautifully with the gamey character of duck and will pair perfectly with a range of lighter meats.
It also has the succulence and texture to contrast chilli-based dishes, particularly Thai food.
